
Does the family still have a future in a society with fewer children? While the drop in fertility observed over the past ten years has raised questions, INED’s Study of Family and Intergenerational Relations 2 (Erfi 2), published Tuesday July 7, a survey carried out in 2024 among 12,800 people aged 18 to 79, shows that the decline in births “is part of broader transformations in life courses”.
