First part of the hit series
In a dystopian future, the former US is divided into twelve districts, harshly ruled by the ruthless Capitol. Every year, this regime forces each district to sacrifice one boy and one girl for the Hunger Games: a live gladiatorial battle in which only one teenager is allowed to survive.
To survive
When fate appoints her younger sister, sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen does not hesitate for a moment and voluntarily takes her place. Together with Peeta, a baker’s son without any combat war experience, she travels to the arena. Their opponents? Better trained, deadlier and determined to win. To survive, Katniss must choose between her humanity and her will to survive.
