The romantic series started earlier this month Every Year After (2026– ) available on Prime Video. The production hit like a bomb and seems to be one of this year’s summer favorites, perhaps even the successor to The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022–2025). Today it was announced that the streaming service Every Year After is renewed for a second season.

New season, new novel

Every Year After is based on Carley Fortune’s novel of the same name. The second season will be based on Fortunes One Golden Summer. Just like the first season, the second season will be led by production manager Amy B. Harris. Meanwhile, Fortune will once again be closely involved as executive producer. Prime Video announced the happy news via X.

New characters?

In the first season we followed the story of best friends Percy and Sam who fall in love during their summers in Barry’s Bay. Years later, however, their relationship ended due to a major event. When Percy returns to her old summer destination for Sam’s mother’s funeral, the two are confronted again after a long time and it must become clear whether the first love might be true love after all.

Watch on Prime Video • The story takes place in Barry’s Bay, a quaint lakeside village in Ontario, Canada. Persephone (Percy) Fraser spends six summers during her teenage years at her family’s vacation home.

In the second season, the focus will shift to Sam’s older brother Charlie. Although Charlie takes center stage, Sam and Percy do not disappear from the picture. The storylines from the first season will also be further developed.
