Netflix will soon release a new Danish thriller: The Secret Woman (2026) This mysterious film follows a woman who discovers the truth about her past after her world is turned upside down by a shocking revelation. From quiet life to identity crisis
Louise Andersen, played by Natalie Madueño (Darkness – Those Who Kill (2019– )) lives on the Norwegian island of Hidra with her partner Joachim, played by Pål Sverre Hagenwaar (Mouse Hunt (2025)), with which she runs a small café. When a stranger claims she is really Helene Söderberg, a woman who disappeared in Denmark three years earlier, her reality begins to shake. She discovers that not only does she have a past she doesn’t remember, but also that she is married and has a child. Determined to find out the truth, she leaves her current life behind and embarks on a quest for her identity.
What follows is a compelling quest in which Louise, who increasingly begins to transform into her alter ego Helene, is confronted with secrets buried deep in her past. The further she digs, the clearer it becomes that the truth is more dangerous than she ever imagined.
