After the acclaimed cult classic, a reboot and several sequels, an animated series will also be released in the near future. Ghostbusters. Netflix revealed the original plans for this in 2022, but now we finally have white smoke. Two pictures from the series offer a first impression.
New ‘busters’
Ghostbusters: Night Shift will be set in New York City in 1994, a few years after the city had already been hit by quite a bit of supernatural violence. A group of young, wandering New Yorkers without much sense of responsibility fearlessly don their suits and take on a bunch of ghosts.
Dark appearance
In the two images that the creators of the franchise posted on Instagram today, we see the animated company on the back, and we also get a clear glimpse of the danger that awaits the ghostbusters:
Jason Reitman is one of the producers of the Netflix series and co-wrote the screenplay. The son of GhostbustersDirector Ivan Reitman himself was behind the camera in 2021 for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the sequel to the first two parts from the 80s. With the story of Night Shift the makers hope to fill the years between part two (from 1989) and the later sequels of recent years.
It is not yet clear when Ghostbusters: Night Shift will be released on Netflix. Add the series to your watchlist to stay informed.
