The Welsh director Jamie Adams may not yet enjoy great international fame, but the emerging maker will soon be able to count on the services of Quentin Tarantino for the second time in a short time. The Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood director was previously in a film that was shown for the first time in the US this month, and that apparently left him wanting more.
Mr. Brown
Tarantino’s name may sound familiar to all those film lovers who know his oeuvre, but it is known that the director is also not averse to stepping in front of the camera every now and then. In most of his films, Tarantino had a cameo or provided a voiceover. The most infamous is undoubtedly his role as Mr. Brown in his debut Reservoir Dogs (1992).

Nothing to complain about
Now that Tarantino’s future as a filmmaker is still uncertain – the director swears by other creative projects for the time being – there is room to do other things, and he recently put his words into words by appearing in Only what we carry. This drama about a college student who returns to the place where she grew up premiered this month at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. In any case, with Sofia Boutella (the Rebel Moon films), Edgar Wright actor Simon Pegg and the French star actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, Adams could not complain about his cast.
Disneyland
In conversation with Variety says the director of Only what we carry that he took the plunge to ask Tarantino for his film, and wrote to him personally:
I was honest about how I saw him as an actor (…) and I really didn’t expect to hear anything back. But two weeks ago his manager emailed that Quentin was intrigued and wanted a Zoom call (…) When you hear his voice, you are sold. Working with him is like Disneyland for filmmakers
Jamie Adams
To the Netherlands?
It is now clear that the collaboration with Adams has not disappointed Tarantino. Last week the director was spotted in Wales, where he worked with Adams and a once again appealing cast (including Boutella, pop star Kylie Minogue and Get Out actress Allison Williams) on the filming of Tangled Up in Blue works. It is not yet clear what exactly the film is about, and whether Adams’ two titles will also come to the Netherlands.
