The war began on February 28, with Donald Trump promising the Iranians that “the hour of (their) freedom was at hand.” A month and a half earlier, while the authorities in Tehran were carrying out a bloody repression behind closed doors, the scale of which the world was about to discover, the American president had already called on “Iranian patriots” to “continue demonstrating”. This war, launched by an American-Israeli tandem convinced that the Islamic Republic would not survive, ended with a short agreement reached by one of the figures of repression, the President of Parliament who became chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
