
Emmanuel Macron, who welcomed his counterparts to the G7 summit in Evian (Haute-Savoie), welcomed this June 17 a “moment of unity” regarding Ukraine. At the initiative of France, the United Kingdom and Germany, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was the guest of this summit. He was able to speak with American President Donald Trump and showed him photos of the Dormition Cathedral, bombed this week in kyiv. He took the opportunity to plead for greater involvement of the United States alongside Ukraine, while Donald Trump has neglected this issue since the start of the war in Iran in February.
