
Are we seeing an improvement in access to care? The latest figures in any case invite optimism. Not only are more general practitioners setting up private practice, but they are also choosing more areas where there is a shortage of practitioners. This is what the Observatory of Access to Health Insurance Care shows, in a press release published Thursday June 11, 2026. In 2025, 2,810 general practitioners took the plunge into the liberal installation, compared to 2,130 in 2024 and around 2,300 in previous years.
