After a four-year wait is approaching Euphoria (2019– ) now really its denouement. HBO Max has released the first trailer for Season 3’s grand finale, an episode that will not only be hugely long, but also likely mark the final end of the drama series. The trailer can now be seen.
Turbulent
The hype around the finale is enormous, especially after the enormous cliffhanger of the seventh episode, which can be seen in the Netherlands today. According to media, the final episode also promises a major threat and emotional chaos for the main characters. The road to season 3 was anything but smooth. Although Euphoria was given the green light for season 3 in February 2022, production was delayed several times due to strikes, deaths within the cast and crew and busy schedules of the now world-famous actors.
Dedicated to Eric Dane
The third season makes a time jump of five years. Rue tries to pay off her debts in Mexico, Jules is studying art, Maddy is building a life in Hollywood and Cassie and Nate even seem to be heading towards marriage. The finale will be released next Monday in the Netherlands and, with a running time of 93 minutes, is one of the longest episodes ever of an HBO Max drama series. At the same time, there are serious rumors going around that this is actually the very last chapter of Euphoria will be. According to Levinson, there are currently no plans for a fourth season. Lead actress Zendaya also hinted at this earlier Euphoria likely ending with season three.
This season also carries extra emotional weight due to the death of several people involved. For example, season three contains the last completed performance of Eric Dane, who died last February after a battle with ALS. HBO dedicated the season premiere to him. The absence of Angus Cloud also hangs heavily over the series. His character, Fez, was deliberately not recast after his death.
