Summer is in the air and so we can also talk about the expectations for Baywatch, the long-awaited reboot series in which Arrow star Stephen Amell will play the absolute leading role. The actor himself shares a first teaser on Instagram, of course with typical slow-motion images.
Swim safely
“Same beach, new blood”. With a big nod to the series that achieved cult status, Fox frames the new images Baywatchin which a bunch of lifeguards once again do their best to keep a holiday location safe for swimming. In recent months, there have been several updates about the casting of the reboot, which will include Brooks Nader, Livvy Dunne and Jessica Belkin. Amell plays the role (Mitch Buchannon) that was played by David Hasselhoff in the original series.
No summer release
With the warm weather these May, you would think that Fox is ready to launch the reboot this summer, but nothing is true. Baywatch will only come in January 2027 be released. The release strategy fits in with previous successes of the provider, which prioritizes the reboot and believes that the release will achieve the best figures in this way. Filming of the series will continue into July on several beaches in Los Angeles. Details about a release in the Netherlands are not yet known.
