The first photo of Man of Tomorrow (2027), the sequel to the successful Superman (2025), has surfaced. The image shows Nicholas Hoult as a completely new version of Lex Luthor.
Human side of Lex Luthor
Director James Gunn shared the first photo of Hoult in Lex Luthor’s iconic green “Warsuit” armor this week. According to previous information Man of Tomorrow a striking twist. While Lex Luthor is normally Superman’s greatest enemy, the two would temporarily team up in the new film against an even greater threat: Brainiac.
The sequel to James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ with David Corenswet.
Gunn, who also wrote the earlier Superman-film directed, previously stated that he wanted to show a more human version of Lex Luthor, after the first part mainly focused on his dark side.
Cast
Besides Hoult (Nosferatu (2024), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)) include David Corenswet (Pearl (2022), We Own This City (2022)) en Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017–2023), House of Cards (2013–2018)) back. The cast of the sequel is further supplemented by newcomers Lars Eidinger (White Noise (2022), Persian Lessons (2020)) and Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge (2024), ).
In theaters next summer
Filming has now started in Atlanta. Man of Tomorrow runs from 9 July 2027 at the cinema.
