After the enormous success of her latest album The Life of a Showgirl Taylor Swift once again has big news for her fans. The 14-time Grammy winner will release a brand new song on June 5: “I Knew It, I Knew You”, written especially for Disney and Pixar’s highly anticipated animated filmToy Story 5 (2026), which will soon be in theaters.
Part of the soundtrack
The song was written and produced by Swift together with her regular producer Jack Antonoff. The single will be available on all major streaming platforms and in digital stores from June 5. The song is also part of the official soundtrack Toy Story 5.

The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, and this time it’s toys versus technology. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the gang find their roles challenged when they come face to face with Lilypad, a brand new tablet device with its own disruptive ideas about what’s best for their child, Bonnie.
Different editions
Fans can also look forward to three exclusive CD versions currently available for pre-sale via Taylor Swift’s official website. In addition to the film version, these editions also include a unique acoustic version and a special piano version, each with unique vocals and production.
Inspired by cowgirl Jessie
“I Knew It, I Knew You” was inspired by the story of courageous cowgirl Jessie, a beloved character who made her debut in Toy Story 2 (1999) and again plays an important role in Toy Story 5.

Cowboy doll Woody and toy astronaut Buzz are back. Woody is ‘kidnapped’ by toy salesman Big Al, because he is the final piece in a unique collection of toys.
It was special to see how quickly Taylor found a connection with Jessie. She immediately understood what the character is going through. When we first heard the song, it felt like it had always been part of the Toy Story world.
