The two men accused of the murders of Daniel Langlois and his partner, Dominique Marchand, were found guilty on Tuesday.

The Quebec couple was found dead in a burned vehicle on the island of Dominica, in the Caribbean, in December 2023, where the businessman owned a hotel complex.
Jonathan Lehrer and Robert Snider Jr. were accused of orchestrating the murders of Mr. Langlois and Ms. Marchand due to a neighborhood dispute.

They were found guilty of double murder after a trial which took place under a publication ban. The jury is made up of five men and four women, according to information sent to the QMI Agency.
Recall that a few days after the disappearance of the victims, their charred remains were found in a burned vehicle near Gallion, in the south of the island.
Autopsies confirmed that they had suffered trauma before their deaths.
Lehrer, one of the defendants, owned the Bois Cotlette chocolate factory. He had been in conflict for several years over the use of the Morne Rouge public road, which crosses his land to get to the hotel opened by Quebecers in 2021.
The dispute reached the island’s highest court, which ruled in 2019 that the road was public and that Mr. Langlois’ clients could use it freely.
The announcement of the deaths of the two Quebecers shook the country, since they were recognized for “their kindness, their love and their commitment”.
