A seaplane carrying 11 people made an emergency landing and caught fire Thursday off the coast of Washington state.
All 11 people aboard the Kenmore Air floatplane, a pilot and 10 passengers, were found safe near Sucia Island, the US Coast Guard confirmed to CNN.

Four people were taken to hospital in serious condition, an airline spokesperson told local channel KING. San Juan County Sheriff Eric Peter reported injuries ranging from “head trauma, fractures and lacerations.”

The seaplane took off at 4:30 p.m. from Lake Union in Seattle and was heading toward Roche Harbor when it crashed into the sea about 45 minutes after takeoff, Kenmore Air said in a statement.
The US Coast Guard said it received the first reports around 5:25 p.m. and immediately deployed search and rescue resources.
“We are grateful that everyone on board was found safe and sound, and our immediate priority is to ensure our passengers and pilot receive the care and support they need,” said David Gudgel, CEO of Kenmore Air.
The airline announced the cancellation of all its flights scheduled for Friday.
