The sky is the subject throughout this film, with chapters in meteorological tones (“Beginning of rainy summer”, “A rainbow”, “Rumble of thunder”…). It is from this sky that Toru (Riku Hagiwara) tries to protect himself. Whether it’s raining, windy or sunny, the student always holds an umbrella above his head. To earn a living, he works every evening in a public bathhouse which he cleans alongside Sacchan (Aoi Itô), a mischievous young musician with a strong personality.
