Russia says it shot down 419 Ukrainian drones
Russia announced on Tuesday June 30 that it had shot down 419 Ukrainian drones overnight, including over the Moscow region where a six-month-old baby was killed according to local authorities.
“During the night, between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on June 29 and 7:00 a.m. on June 30, anti-aircraft defenses intercepted and destroyed 419 Ukrainian drones,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement. Annexed Crimea, the Russian region of Krasnodar (south) and that of the capital Moscow were notably affected by these attacks, among 19 territories in all.
In the region surrounding Moscow, a house caught fire in Yegorievsk following the fall of a drone, according to regional governor Andrei Vorobiov. Being inside at the time of the attack, “a six-month-old baby died on the way to the hospital,” he said, adding that another child and two adults were injured and hospitalized.
Ukrainian oligarch injured in explosion in Monaco
One of the three people injured in an intentional explosion Monday evening in Monaco is a Ukrainian oligarch, Vadim Ermolaev, said a source close to the matter.
The explosion occurred around 9:00 p.m. in a residential building along the border with France. Two adults, including Vadim Ermolaev, have a life-threatening prognosis and a 13-year-old teenager was more lightly affected.
