
He is a young 88-year-old painter who has just died at his home in London. David Hockney retained until the end a capacity for wonder which had enchanted, in the spring of 2025, the visitors of his last major retrospective at the Louis-Vuitton Foundation. Although in a wheelchair and weakened by illness, the British artist wanted to visit it with his loved ones, moved and curious to find on the walls the works of almost seventy years of career.
