After the success of Supacell (2024– ) Filmmaker Andrew “Rapman” unabashes. The director is once again joining forces with Netflix and will soon come with the crime comedy The Council.
The story of Nicky Barnes
The script of The Council Is written by Peter Landsman and Rapman himself. The film is about a crime syndicate consisting of seven African-American men, who were in the service in Harlem decades ago. Central to the story is Nicky Barnes, the notorious leader who was labeled by The New York Times as Mr. Untouchable. Inspired by the structure of the Italian Mafia, Barnes founded the Council and earned millions with it. The downfall began in the late 1970s. Barnes was sentenced to life imprisonment. However, after he discovered that his own organization had dropped him and that a fellow member had ran away with his girlfriend, he decided to become a crown witness.

The Council is produced by Matt Jackson. It is not yet known who will play the role of Barnes or one of the other members of the gang. The expectation is that more details will be known within the coming months about the cast, recording data, film locations and release date.
