The facts took place around 2:30 p.m. this Friday, in Louviers (Eure). A 29 -year -old man died in a kayak accident on the Eure river, up to a hydraulic work, relate our colleagues as Ouest-France.
Upon arrival of help, early in the afternoon, the two men were in cardiorepiratory arrest. Only one of them could be saved. This 26 -year -old man was evacuated “in a state of absolute emergency”, according to firefighters. This Friday evening, his vital prognosis was still committed.
“A washing machine effect”
“They were taken in the waterfall which has a washing machine effect,” reports the departmental fire and rescue service of the Eure to La Dépêche de Louviers. Witnesses began the resuscitation of the victims pending the arrival of the rescue.
In shock, four witnesses were redirected to the town hall of Louviers: a psychological cell was opened there. A total of 18 firefighters were mobilized for this operation. They took care of recovering the canoes. An investigation was opened to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
