A man from Florida pursues Walt Disney Parks and Resorts For having pretended to have suffered “permanent catastrophic injuries” after having toboggan in the famous Disney amusement park in 2021, report several American media including CBS News.
Eugene Strickland claims $ 50,000 (approximately 43,000 euros) of damages from the amusement parks as part of a legal action filed Thursday, May 29 in the County of Orange, Florida. These damage arise from wounds physical and mental that Eugen Strickland claims to have undergone as he went up on the Downhill Double Dipper (DDD) attraction of the Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park on July 31, 2021.
The man, who weighed 151 kg at the time of the incident, is 15 kg more than the weight limit authorized for this aquatic attraction, affirms in the trial that he was dislodged from the slide because of the speed of attraction. On the other hand, it is unknown if he was warned or if he was aware of this weight limit before taking the slide.

After being ejected from the buoy, the man violently landed on the plastic surface of the slide, which caused him to serious bodily injuriesaccording to the complaint that evokes scars, disfigurement and disability. Among other alleged injuries are “mental suffering” and “loss of ability to enjoy life”.
The victim claims that the parc is responsible for his injuries, saying in his complaint that Disney had the “duty to warn him of the dangerous conditions of the DDD aquatic toboggan”, and the responsibility of repairing the “dangerous conditions” of the toboggan. For the time being, Disney has still not reacted to this complaint.
