Netflix decides to expand the horror offer soon and announces the arrival of My sad dead (2026) on, also My Sad Dead In English. “The true terror is not the supernatural self, but the horrors that society hides,” writes the streaming service in the announcement.
The link between life and death
EMA, a 60-year-old doctor, can see and hear the dead. She calls them “presentations” and has avoided her whole life that this gift connects her with the suffering of others. But when her niece Julie – a disturbed young woman who can also communicate with the dead, but arrives in a much intense and sexually tinted way – at her home, EMA is forced to interfere.
What starts when a family reunion turns into a disturbing series of events that disrupts the balance between the world of the living and the dead and infected a whole neighborhood with voices from the other side. If the boundaries between life, death and desire fade, EMA must confront her past, her daughter and the spirits she has never let go.

The horror series is based on the eponymous, prize -winning story of the Argentinian author Mariana Enriquez and also gets inspiration from her other works. Emma is played by Mercedes Morán that we know from The kingdom (2021–2023). Maria director Pablo Larraín takes control. The recordings start at the end of June and take place in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Santiago (Chile).
Mariana writes particularly visual, always brilliant and always dangerous. It is a casual, homely horror that inspires and inspires many film and television operations. I am grateful to Netflix for the chance to work with this team of people I admire and who will undoubtedly do everything to make the best possible mini -series.
