The makers of The Jewish Council (2024) in The Battle of the Scheldt (2020) will soon release their latest war drama: The big offensive (2025). The first trailer of the new cinema film has just been unveiled.
WWII in the Westerschelde
The film revolves around an underexposed chapter of the Second World War: the Allied Offensive for the Westerschelde. The story follows General Eisenhower and Veldmaarschalk Montgomery, two rival commanders who collide with their egos. The battle between the two men has major consequences for the Zeeland population during the liberation of the Netherlands in 1944.
Gijs Scholten van Aschat
The direction is for Victor D. Ponten, who earlier Rabat (2011) made. The main roles are – in addition to Gijs Scholten van Aschat as a narrator – for Aus Greidanus, Mike Reus, Michael Krass and Martijn Oversteegen.
