He was a deeply nice man, respectful and appreciated by an entire city. Hichem Miraoui, a 46-year-old Tunisian, was murdered on Saturday evening by one of his neighbors in the commune of Puget-sur-Argens (Our), a few kilometers from Fréjus. The first elements of the investigation leave no room for doubt : This quarantine was the victim of a “racist” crime, with a “terrorist dimension”, in the words of the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau.
Born in Tunisia, Hichem Miraoui comes from a family of eight brothers and sisters, we told the lawyer Mourad Battikh in a press release transmitted to the press. The latter will defend the interests of the family in this case. The quarantine had decided to leave his native country to find “a better future” in France, leaving his parents in Tunisia.
“What a horror was such a good young man”
Hairdresser, Hichem Miraoui worked in a Puget-sur-Argens show, indicate our colleagues from Var-Matin. It was in front of his workplace that dozens of people came to pay tribute to him on Monday.
“What a horror was such a brave young man,” said Mégane to the local newspaper. “He hated my five -year -old son, and got along so well with him (…) He was so sweet, so calm. He had a little bird, in a cage, in the hair salon. When he hated our son, he took him out, so that he could caress him. »»
Appreciated by the customers of the hair salon, Hichem Miraoui was also a man without stories. “He was unknown to the police,” said Mourad Battikh in his press release. “Hichem’s death is the direct consequence of an atmosphere fueled by stigma, amalgams and trivialization of racist violence. »»
On Facebook, several relatives of the victim broadcast photos of the quarantine, receiving numerous messages of condolence, written in French or in Arabic.
A murder claimed on Facebook
Hichem Miraoui was fatally affected by five ball impacts. According to our information, the shooter was identified as a certain Christophe B., 53, unknown to the files of the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI) and territorial intelligence (RT).
According to several sources close to the file, he claimed his act in two videos published on Facebook. One was broadcast just before his murder. In the latter, the man in his fifty years made remarks that go far beyond the simple violence of his acts: he encourages the French to “revolt” and to “shoot” on people of foreign origin, especially Maghreb, whom he considers a major threat to the country.
