A woman was discovered dead at her home in the Drôme, where her companion was found “very seriously” injured, said the prosecution on Sunday, opening a criminal investigation.
Following an alert given by a family member, a dead woman was discovered at her home on Saturday evening in Livron, not far from Valence, the public prosecutor, Laurent de Caigny, told AFP.
“In the same home”, a man was found “very seriously injured” and hospitalized with a vital prognosis “severely committed”, he added.
“Family drama”
“The first elements are oriented towards a closed door,” according to the prosecutor, who evokes a “crime scene of rare violence”. “But nothing for the moment makes it possible to give explanations to the current observations”, including medico-Legals, specifies Mr. de Caigny.
Of a source close to the file, we favor the hypothesis of a female followed by a suicide attempt.
No details were given on the ages of the victims, nor the history of the couple.
Questioned by AFP, the mayor of Livron, Francis Fayard, evokes a “family drama” within a couple who, however, had “never” been talked about.
The research brigade of the Crest gendarmerie company is responsible for a criminal investigation.
