Inter Milan announced a sad news this Saturday, May 31. Owner and president of the Lombard club from 1984 to 1995, Ernesto Pellegrini died at the age of 84.

Son of farmers, Pellegrini had founded his business in the catering sector with which he had made a fortune. Milanese by birth, he had thus been able to buy the club of his city in 1984, before reselling it in 1995 in Massimo Moratti.
Under his presidency, the Nerazzurri had several successes with in particular Serie A in 1989 and the UEFA Cup (former name of the Europa League) in 1991 and 1994.
