Three new deaths “linked to chikungunya The number of deaths has been counted in Reunion, bringing the number of deaths since the start of the year on the island to twelve, announced on Wednesday Public Public Health, which reports in its weekly bulletin for a slight decrease in the epidemic.
“These deaths occurred in people over the age of 70 (…) carrying comorbidities”, mainly “chronic pathologies”, said the public health agency, adding in a statement that 3,079 cases were recorded in the last week of April, against 3,601 the previous week.
