Facing the press on Tuesday evening, Netflix insisted on the desire to change, without destabilizing. “The new Netflix experience on TV is always the one you know and love, but with improvements that make it even better,” said Eunice Kim, Chief Product Officer.

Elizabeth Stone, Chief Technology Officer, praised the capacity of the company “to combine technology and entertainment”. “This is our strength,” she said in a press release, insisting on the series and films offered and the recommendations. “But beyond the content, if we consider all the areas where Netflix excels-our scope, our recommendations, our Fandom-it is technology that makes it possible,” she continued.
Favorite, shortcuts and recommendations
In the coming months, the company promises its subscribers to more easily discover its next crush. How ? By putting more forward “useful information” to make “an informed choice”. Netflix thus promises to give more indications as “winner of an Emmy Award” or “most popular TV series”.
Another notable change, shortcuts better visible to “research” and “my list” which will now appear at the top of the home page. So far, they were “hidden” on the left side. The recommendations of the home page will also adapt more to the interests of the subscriber’s moment. The design will be more refined and modern.
New features are also preparing to land on mobile. Generative AIfor example, will facilitate research by taking into account more natural formulations, like “I want something funny and happy”. In addition, a feed enriched with short extracts will be deployed to make discovery more intuitive and more fun. As for the calendar, the deployment of the update will gradually be carried out worldwide in the coming weeks.
