The Netflix series With Love, Meghan (2025– ) gets a lot of criticism. Chef Jameson Stocks in particular once cooked for King Charles, does not save his words. He calls the series ‘terrible’ and ‘difficult to watch’. In response to his criticism, the chef said he had received a letter from Netflix containing a serious threat.
Meghan can’t cook
In With Love, Meghan Gives the Duchess of Sussex viewers a glimpse into her life and gives them tips to make the everyday routines more pleasant. For example, cooking is central to the series, where Markle shows her favorite dishes and kitchen habits. According to Stocks, who once worked for King Charles, it is not up to Markle to give cooking advice.
How can she get all that money from Netflix? I don’t think she can cook and I don’t think she should teach others to cook (…) I think she should just start acting again. She is quite a good actress – in real life, or at least on the screen. People should just do what they are good at.
Legal steps
Stocks was skeptical before the release of the series. He claims that he was approached to work on production, but thanked for it. The chef did not feel like teaching Markle something in a setting that would, according to him, feel forced and fake. He stated that she should sort it out for herself if she would like to make such a program. In the meantime, on behalf of Netflix, he says he has received a warning letter from a lawyer. However, the streaming platform once denies having taken legal action against him. In the meantime, the Brad Pitt production company is working on a biopic about the life of the now -known chef. Stocks walked away from home at the age of fifteen and was discovered by top chef Marco Pierre White.
