A 59-year-old admitted that he had killed his ex-wife, found dead on Friday at his home in Isère, the Grenoble prosecutor’s office told the Parisian on Friday.
The gendarmerie of Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère) intervened Friday afternoon at the home of this 56-year-old woman after a call from her son who had discovered her lifeless. “The 59 -year -old victim’s spouse, with whom she had been in the process of divorce since 2023, was found on the spot,” said François Touret de Coucy, deputy prosecutor. The man admitted to having killed her and was immediately placed in police custody. He is suspected of having strangled her.
The couple was not the subject of special follow -up
“Presented to the Grenoble investigating judge at the end of his police custody, the suspect was indicted of the chief of murder by a person being spouse of the victim and then placed in pre -trial detention,” continued the assistant prosecutor.
The two spouses no longer lived together and the couple was not the subject of special follow -up. “No complaints for violence within the couple had been reported before these facts,” said the prosecution. An investigation has been opened and investigations must continue to understand the circumstances of this act.
