Actress Julia Garner, known for the Netflix hit Inventing Anna (2022)is currently again in negotiation with the streaming service. She is at the top of Netflix’s preferred list to play the leading role in a series about the rise and fall of the Crypto company FTX.
One of the biggest scandals
The new Netflix series revolves around one of the greatest financial scandals in recent American history, the spectacular downfall of Crypto fair FTX. Central is the complex love affair between founder Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, the young CEO of the trading company Alameda Research, affiliated with FTX. Ellison was ultimately convicted of her role in the large -scale financial deception in which billions of dollars were abused in customer fees. Her collaboration with the judiciary became crucial in the case against Bankman-Fried, who was also convicted of large-scale fraud.
The Obama’s
Garner is currently in advanced negotiation on the role of Ellison. The still title -free series will receive eight episodes. The recordings are expected to start next summer. The scenario is written by Graham Moore, known from The Imitation Game (2014). The series is produced by Barack and Michelle Obama via Higher Ground Productions.
