At the beginning of this year, Netfix announced that it was working on a reboot of the classic series Little House on the Prairie (1974–1983). The idea of a modern reinterpretation evoked mixed reactions. Fortunately, two veterans immediately expressed themselves positively Little House on the Prairie Reboot: Dean Butler and Alison Arngrim, who could be seen in the original series as Alamanzo James Wilder and Nellie Oleson respectively. In the meantime, production has really started, because the new Laura Ingalls has already been found.
The new Laura
The role of Laura Ingalls will be played by the young actress Alice Halsey. You could recognize Halsey from Lessons In Chemistry (2023)in which she plays the daughter of the character of Brie Larson. She also had roles in Days of Our Lives (1965– ) in Night Court. Furthermore, Halsey could be heard in the Disney Junior series Kindergarten: The Musical. The character Laura is again a quirky go -getter. She is not afraid to follow her own path and bite into everything she believes in.

The Netflix reboot is described as a hopeful family story, an epic survival drama and an origin story of the American West. In the original series from the seventies, Laura was played by Melissa Gilbert, who grew into the face of the franchise. A striking detail is that Halsey is exactly as old as Gilbert was then Little House on the Prairie First appeared on television. In addition to a new Laura, more cast members have been found. Luke Bracey will be shown when Laura’s father Charles Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald plays the role of Laura’s mother Caroline Ingalls and Skywalker Hughers plays Mary Ingalls, Laura’s sister.
