Who thought he could still enjoy the second season of this year Shogun (2024– )is disappointed. The makers give an update about the sequel and it is somewhat disappointing: we will have to be patient.
Recordings in January
Shogun Originally a mini series, but due to the enormous success, FX decided to give the series a second and third season. Now Disney+ says that the recordings of that second season start in January 2026 in Vancouver.
Ten years later
The second season takes place ten years after the first season. More details about the plot are not yet known. Protagonists Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis return as Lord Yoshii Toranaga and John BlackTthorne.

Since the recordings will only start next year, we will have to wait a while until season 2 appears on Disney+. We expect the new episodes at the earliest at the end of 2026 to see.
