Netflix announced on this hot day that it has obtained the rights of the summer romcom Summer in France (2023). The charming story from the Netherlands will come to the streaming service next month.
Struggles after years of friendship
Two families decide to go on holiday to France together. But after years of friendship, feelings suddenly arise between father Walt (Tjebbo Gerritsma) and Marie (Fockeline Ouwerkerk), the mother of the other family. To solve the difficult situation as well as possible, they hope to stimulate a love between both of them partners Luuk (Jan Kooijman) and Lieke (Jasmine Sendar).

In addition to Jan Kooijman, Fockeline Ouwerkerk, Tjebbo Gerritsma and Jasmine Sendar, the other lead roles are played by Lieve van Leeuwen, Eliyha Altena and Wendy Ruijfrok. The new Dutch film is directed by Mark de Cloe, who earlier Life from a day (2009), Mannenharten (2013) in Silk Road (2017) made.
