Not called SE 4, iPhone 16e with A18 chips starts at NT$21,990, pre-order on 2/21, shipped on 2/28

Apple has once again launched a low-priced iPhone. This time, the name abandoned the SE, which was used in the past, but was classified into the iPhone 16 series, and officially named the iPhone 16e.

The iPhone 16e uses the same thin A18 chip as the iPhone 16, and has a 6-core CPU and a 16-core neural network engine of the same scale, but the GPU is reduced to 4 cores, and the graphics processing capability will be slightly weaker.

Compared with the 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD screen of the iPhone SE 3, the iPhone 16e has been upgraded to a 6.1-inch Retina XDR OLED screen, but it still has bangs of the iPhone 13 series. The screen glass uses the same super porcelain crystal shield as iPhone 16 and an aluminum metal structure, and has IP68 dust-proof and waterproof capabilities.

The iPhone 16e camera is equipped with only one standard wide-angle main camera of iPhone 16, with a 48-megapixel photosensitive element, which can generate photos equivalent to 2 times optical zoom through cropping. It supports portrait mode with depth of field control, and can also shoot 4K Dolby Vision at 60 fps.

The connection interface uses the same USB-C as iPhone 16, and of course the transmission rate is only 480 Mbps of USB 2.0. Wireless charging is available, but only supports the earliest Qi 7.5W standard, and there is no MagSafe magnetic positioning.

The iPhone 16e will be available for pre-order at 21:00 Taipei time on February 21, and will be shipped on February 28. It is available in black and white, and the capacity is 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB.
