Mickey 17 (2025)
7.3

The unlikely Hero Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson) has a very special job. His employer demands the ultimate dedication from him:

Successful Blockbuster

Critics reward the new scifi with a score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. Although several name that this is not Bong’s strongest film, they agree that it is a hugely entertaining adventure. Where a Bong Joon-Ho movie is expected to remain a political message Mickey 17 According to Critic a bit behind, but that is not at the bottom of the story.

Mickey 17 may not be as strong as Parasite (a difficult to cross the bar), but it is easily Bong’s best English -language product so far.

Brent Hankins, De Lamplight Review

Mickey 17 Maybe missing some of the political sharpness of his earlier work, but it is without a doubt very nice: a large, strange spectacle that is different from most blockbuster cinema that is there.

Lou Thomas, Time Out

This is not just such a great Bong Joon-Ho film about how much he hates capitalism (although he is certain), it is the first Bong Joon-Ho film about how much he loves people.

David Ehrlich, IndieWire

Just like Mickey itself, it is crazy and a bit inconsistent, but it is also funny, thoughtful and plausible than we might want. A charming sense of space for these unusual times.

Happy acting performance

Immediately after the premiere, the first reports about the film came out, in particular the riding of Robert Pattinson was praised. In the new review, the acting performance of Pattinson is even compared to Jim Carrey in “his best years”. Not only the performance of Pattinson stood out, but also Mark Ruffalo and Naomi Ackie impress.

Pattinson could easily call comedy its true calling and delivers an elastic physical performance that is just as agile as Jim Carrey in his best years.

Ben Croll, The Wrap

Pattinson’s chemistry with itself is ultimately the kind for which most actors would make a murder … a genre-rating achievement.

David Opie, Total Film

Ruffalo’s performance is without a doubt the loudest and most daring in Mickey 17… it’s his performance that people will talk about all year round.

Jack Walters, Next Best Picture

Naomi Ackie as Mickey’s Mistress Nasha is great. She takes on this simple supporting role and makes something much more important and more powerful.
