Elon Musk would prepare to take out the checkbook of his business for Donald Trump. Social network X (formerly Twitter) agreed with the American president, which he will compensate for ten million dollars for having suspended his account in 2021, reported on Wednesday the Wall Street Journal.
Twitter had frozen the Republican billionaire a few hours after the Capitol attack in Washington on January 6, considering that Donald Trump had prompted the demonstrators to take action.
A suspension for two years
This suspension will have lasted almost two years, before Elon Musk, who became the majority shareholder of Twitter, raised it, in November 2022. In the meantime, Donald Trump had assigned Twitter to court as well as his leader of the time, Jack Jack Dorsey, who has since left the group. Dismissed at first instance, he called in 2022.
According to the Wall Street JournalTrump lawyers initially planned to abandon the procedure without compensation, before finally deciding an amicable agreement with X. In a decision rendered on Monday, a federal court of appeal had accessed the request of Donald Trump lawyers to end legal action.

At the end of January, Meta also agreed to compensate the American president, up to 25 million dollars, for having suspended his account on the Facebook social network in 2021.
