The Tax Administration Service (SAT) implemented a measure to guarantee compliance with traffic fines imposed on drivers. This initiative seeks to promote respect for road regulations and ensure that citizens fulfill their responsibilities.
Through this mechanism, he SAT will intervene in the process of paying sanctionspreventing users from avoiding the consequences for committing infractions on a federal highway.
The measure focuses on the fines issued by the National Guard (GN), which must be paid within a maximum period of 30 days. In case of not making payment within this period, The drivers will face an additional economic sanction, which can reach up to 17 thousand pesos.
“If the pecuniary sanction is not covered within thirty business days granted for payment, the liquidation will be made and the competent fiscal authority will be taken for the execution of the acts related to its collection and, where appropriate, of the guarantee granted, ”reads article 206 of the Traffic Regulations on roads and bridges in federal jurisdiction.
This period and economic sanction aim to encourage drivers to fulfill their obligations on timethus avoiding major complications.
It is important to highlight that this procedure applies to all traffic offenses that are not skipped within the time determined by the GN. If the payment is delayed, The SAT will proceed with coercive collection, which could result in even more expensive consequences for the offender.
This change in the sanction process reinforces the need for drivers to adhere to the regulations and pay the corresponding fines in a timely manner.
