Meta presents teenage account features on Instagram, young users are safer and more protected

“We delete content that violates the rules and does not recommend sensitive content, such as content that leads to sexual or content that discusses suicide or self-hurt behavior,” the company wrote.

With an Instagram teenage account, youth users will also get the tightest settings from our sensitive content control, so that the smaller the chances they get sensitive content recommendations

Not only that, Meta’s platform can hide the full sensitive content of teenage users, even though the content is shared by someone they follow.

Meta began implementing an Instagram teenage account this week, with gradual implementation in the coming months. Old teenage users will also be informed about this change before they are transferred to a new system.
