Comic Library Z resurrection raises 3 million yen to meet the standard in one day, and is expected to restart services by the end of April

“Comic Library Z” (マンガ右 Library Z), an e-book service led by Ken Akamatsu, was forced to close on November 26, 2024 due to the suspension of support for the gold flow service. The official launched a fundraising fund on February 5 this year, but unexpectedly, he successfully raised a target amount of 3 million yen within one day, with a total of 374 people participating. It is expected that the website will be restarted by the end of April.

“J Comic” is a free e-book platform founded by Ken Akamatsu in 2010 (it was officially launched in 2011). It was renamed “Comic Library Z” in August 2015. The content on the site is mainly out of print comics and works that have not yet been electronicized. Adult content needs to be read for a fee, among which advertising revenue will be returned to the author, and other operating expenses such as server fees rely on paid senior members.

However, according to the announcement of the official team of the Comic Library Z, the direct reason is that the gold flow service has announced that it will stop supporting the company at the end of October (similar to the Blue New and Green World in Taiwan), resulting in major credit cards and other electronics including JCB Payments (except BitCash) are unavailable, and revenue from the past month has also been interrupted, resulting in the inability to receive membership fees and unable to pay server fees. Although the team conducted emergency negotiations, the “decision based on credit card companies” is still irreversible.

In the fundraising statement, J-Comic Terrace stated that there are new gold flow service companies that can support comic library Z and are signing contracts. The lack of operating expenses hope to be supplemented through fundraising for the public.
