Based on reports from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), in 2021-2023 there were 481 cases of children who became victims of pornography and cyber crime.

UNICEF data noted, 1 in 3 children in the world had been exposed to inappropriate content on the internet. For this reason, following steps like Australia and the European Union, the Minister of Communication and Information Meutya Hafid emphasized the importance of policies for digital security.

“Indonesia should not be left behind. With Saman, we take a big step in protecting the public from the dangers of negative content,” he said.

This step is taken to create a digital ecosystem safer and healthier. This is also a strict signal that the government will not compromise with digital security threats.
