Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Minister of Communications and Digital Meutya Hafid accompanied President Prabowo Subianto on his visit to India. At this moment, Indonesia and India agreed on a strategic partnership in the field of digital development.
During that visit, the Minister of Communication and Technology together with the Indian Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada entered into an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations in the digital technology sector.
“This partnership is an important momentum in strengthening the digital ecosystem in both countries, both in terms of technology and human resources,” said Minister of Communication and Higher Education Meutya Hafid in a press release received, Saturday (25/1/2025).
The contents of the MoU cover various areas of cooperation, such as the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and the Internet of Things, development of public digital infrastructure, including digital identity.
Apart from that, there is also digital ecosystem collaboration business-to-business (B2B), including information technology skills development.
“Through this MoU, we hope to create synergy between Indonesia and India in accelerating inclusive and sustainable digital transformation,” said Meutya.
To ensure implementation is effective, both Indonesia and India agreed to form a Joint Working Group.
This group will meet regularly to evaluate program progress, share solutions, and overcome challenges that arise during the implementation of the collaboration.
Meutya also emphasized the importance of cross-border partnerships to support technological innovation.
“We need to build collaboration that not only benefits the government, but also involves the private sector and the wider community,” he added.
This strategic partnership is expected to strengthen the digital ecosystem of the two countries by sharing knowledge, experience and innovative solutions to face the challenges of global digital transformation.
