Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Indonesia, which is known as one of the world’s largest oil and gas producers, and has extensive palm oil plantations, is considered to need a capable air management system to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable drone operations.
Responding to this need, Terra Drone Indonesia introduced the first air traffic management (UTM) solution in the country.
As an established drone service provider company in Indonesia, Terra Drone is supported by global UTM expertise through its two group companies: Unifly and Aloft Technologies.
Unifly is a UTM technology provider from Belgium with a track record of implementing UTM at the national level. Meanwhile Aloft Technologies is the largest provider of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) services approved by the FAA in the United States.
Managing Director of Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wishnu Wardana, explained that this solution allows managing multiple drone flights simultaneously with a high level of security.
This UTM technology, he continued, can support various needs, from land management, distribution of goods to remote areas, to infrastructure monitoring.
“With the presence of this technology, we are confident that drone adoption in Indonesia will continue to grow, creating an innovation ecosystem that is able to encourage efficiency and productivity in various sectors,” said Vishnu in his official statement, Friday (24/1/2025).
Terra Drone’s UTM technology demonstration shows how this system can revolutionize airspace management in Indonesia, accelerate the commercial use of drones, and lay the foundation for future national implementation.
