The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) prepares to implement innovations this 2025focusing on improving its services through the use of advanced technology. Among these developments, the creation of the Digital Health Card stands out, a tool designed to facilitate access by beneficiaries to their medical history in a safe and practical way through their cell phones.
The Digital Health Card will allow users to consult their medical information from the last 12 monthsincluding laboratory test results, prescribed medications, disabilities and essential health data such as height, weight and Body Mass Index (BMI). This tool will be essential for beneficiaries to maintain adequate monitoring of their health and collaborate more effectively with their doctors.
Since November 2024, a pilot test of this application has been carried out, and now, after two months of evaluation, beneficiaries over 18 years of age can easily obtain it. To access the Digital Health Card, users must download the IMSS Digital application and complete a registration that includes capturing their social security number and a selfie to verify their identity..
The IMSS has also enabled a telephone number and social networks to provide technical support to users during the registration process.. Those who need assistance can call 800 953 0112 to resolve any questions that may arise.
