After a registration of 25 deaths during the fires past of Los Angeles and surrounding areas, a new fire emerges that alerts with more evacuations and threatens its expansion.
Although the fire of the four main fires in California was controlled, this Wednesday, January 22, a new large fire was recorded, Hughes firewhich has consumed several hectares in a few hours.
Previously, meteorologists had shared a “particularly dangerous situation” warning due to strong winds that are an obstacle for firefighters trying to contain the fires.
The fire, known as Hughes, started in northern Castaic during the morning and, in a few hours, it devastated more than 3 thousand hectares (8 thousand acres), driven by strong winds in southern California, according to the California Fire Department (Cal Fire).
Authorities are working to contain the fire, while evacuation orders have been issued in areas near Lake Castaic, affecting more than 19,000 people, according to the KTLA channel.
