Samsung Electronics officially launched the latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S25 Series, with three variants: Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, United States on Wednesday (22/1/2025) local time .
All three set new standards as AI smartphones that deliver multimodal AI systems to change the way users interact with their smartphones and the world.
“Every major innovation always reflects user needs. Therefore, we developed Galaxy AI so that everyone can use the device more easily with privacy data that remains safely protected,” said President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business Samsung Electronics, TM Roh, at the launch of Samsung Galaxy S25 Sris.
He explained, the Galaxy S25 Series presents an AI-based OS that changes the way we use technology in everyday life.
This smartphone is supported by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy which has been specially customized to be able to carry out greater processing for Galaxy AI and a super sophisticated camera controlled by the latest generation ProVisual Engine.
In the camera sector, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus have three rear cameras, each of which is a 12MP ultra wide camera with F2.2 aperture and 120˚ field of view (FOV); Wide 50MP camera with OIS, F1.8 aperture and 85˚ FOV; as well as a 10 MP Telephoto camera with 3x Optical Zoom, F2.4, and FOV 36˚. Plus a 12MP resolution front camera with F2.2 aperture and 80˚ FOV.
Meanwhile, the highest variant of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is equipped with four rear cameras, consisting of a 50MP Ultra-Wide camera with F1.9 aperture and FOV 120˚; 200MP Ultra Wide camera with OIS, F1.7 aperture, and 85˚ FOV; 50MP Telephoto camera with 5x Optical Zoom, OIS, F3.4, and FOV 22˚; as well as a 10MP Telephoto camera with 3x Optical Zoom, OIS, F2.4, FOV 36˚. Plus a 12MP resolution front camera with F2.2 and FOV 80˚.
To support performance, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset embedded in the three premium smartphones is supported by an octa-core CPU (2×4.47 GHz Oryon V2 Phoenix L + 6×3.53 GHz Oryon V2 Phoenix M) and GPU Adreno 830.
According to Samsung, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy has an extraordinary performance increase, namely 40% on the NPU (Neural Processing Unit), 37% on the CPU (Central Processing Unit), and 30% on the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) compared to the previous generation .
This improvement allows the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series to handle more AI functions on-device without problems, including features that were previously done via the cloud such as Generative Edit.
For RAM and internal memory (ROM) options, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus are available in 12/512GB, 12/256GB models. Then the Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with 12/1TB, 12/512GB and 12/256GB options.
In the screen sector, the Samsung Galaxy S25 is equipped with a 6.2 inch FHD+ screen, the Galaxy S25 Plus has a 6.7 inch QHD+ screen, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 6.9 inch QHD+ screen. All three are supported by Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display technology and Super Smooth 120Hz refresh rate (1~120Hz).
