Spider-Man director Sam Raimi returns to the horror genre after years with his latest film Send Help. None other than Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien will play the leading roles in the terrifying film about a plane crash.
Surviving on an island
The new project is described as a survival horror thriller about two colleagues who must fight for survival on a deserted island as the only survivors of a plane crash. The script was written by Baywatch writing duo Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, who also wrote the 2009 Friday the 13th remake.
Dylan O’Brien
Raimi signed the project with 20th Century Studios in July, after which McAdams joined in October to star. Deadline now brings the latest update surrounding the project, reporting that The Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien will appear alongside McAdams. The actor rose to fame with his role in Teen Wolf (2011–2017) after which he became the face of the popular The Maze Runnerfranchise. He also has films like American Assassin (2017) in Not Okay (2022) to his name, and his latest film was recently released Caddo Lake (2024) op HBO Max.
Rachel McAdams
McAdams put herself on the map by playing two completely different roles Mean Girls (2004) in The Notebook (2004)which came out the same year. After that she appeared in projects like Red Eye (2005), True Detective (2014– ) in Southpaw (2015). She is also part of the Doctor Strange franchise, where she works with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) as having worked with Raimi before.

Raimi is no stranger to the horror genre as he is the man behind the original Evil Dead films. He also made Drag Me to Hell (2009) and he directed the first one Spider-Mantrilogy with Tobey Maguire. The director shows his versatility with films like For Love of the Game (1999) in Oz: The Great and Powerful (2013) on his portfolio.
