Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Typical designs in technology sometimes last quite a long time and have become users’ daily habits. But over time, even the most iconic features can change.
As happened with Lenovo, Lenovo recently made an important decision regarding its ThinkPad series.
Quoting Gizchina, Wednesday (22/1/2025), Lenovo decided to remove its legendary red Trackpoint from its latest generation Lenovo ThinkPad laptop models.
This step also makes many people wonder, what is the reason behind the change?
For your information, the red trackpoint in the middle of the ThinkPad laptop keyboard has been the main feature since 1992. However, Lenovo is now saying goodbye to the trackpoint.
Later, the new ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition model will no longer feature a trackpoint on the keyboard.
This decision was announced at CES 2025, Lenovo also stated that it wanted to modernize its design. The company also believes that touchpads have now become commonplace instead of still presenting the red trackpoint.
