After Donald Trump officially assumed the presidency of the United States, currencies experienced significant changes, affecting the Mexican peso. On the last day, The US dollar closed at 20.63 pesos, which represented an increase of 0.65% compared to the value of 20.50 pesos recorded the previous day.
Looking at data from the previous week, when Joe Biden was still president, the dollar showed an increase of 0.85%.

Since his first day in office, Trump announced that he would impose 25% tariffs on Mexican exports and that he would take a firm stance on immigration and drug trafficking issues, especially regarding fentanyl.
According to Ramón de la Rosa, economic analyst at Actinver cited by Bloomberg, the current scenario suggests that the exchange rate in Mexico would remain around 20.90 pesos per dollar. However, he warned that there is the possibility of a negative scenario in which the US currency could exceed 21 pesos.
