In Brittany, violence once again plunges Rennes into mourning. Aged around 45, a man was killed Tuesday after his attack in a working-class neighborhood of the city, said public prosecutor Frédéric Teillet. “At this stage the link has not been made with drug trafficking,” he clarified.
According to a source close to the case, the man was beaten in the Blosne district south of Rennes around 6:15 p.m. by several people. He was stabbed and had three wounds in his abdomen, according to the same source.
Another death in early January in the same neighborhood
At the beginning of January, a 22-year-old young man was stabbed to death in the same neighborhood, in a location known for drug trafficking. The man suspected of having carried out the beating was arrested in Marseille then indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention.
In mid-January, a man believed to have the profile of a drug addict was found dead after receiving several stab wounds in a house in Rennes.
